Jon Garland was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Detroit Iron Gloves outscored the Chainsaw Proctologists
2 to 1.
Detroit scored 1 run in the 3rd inning. After two outs Dmitri Young smashed a
solo-shot out of the park (his 1st of the season). The early run support
proved sufficient for Garland(3-1) and Detroit. That was all the run support
Garland required. The pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither
team was able to score again.
Miguel Batista(0-3) was hit with the loss. He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 7
and 2/3 innings.
